There’s a reasonable chance the Tennessee Titans select a pass rusher with their first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
But if that’s the path they decide to take, they should probably avoid Florida edge rusher Jachai Polite.
Several NFL draft analysts have mocked Polite to the Titans in recent weeks. After his combine performance, however, he should be nowhere near Tennessee’s first round draft board.
Polite apparently put on a clinic on how to not interview during the combine.
Just landed back home, opened my phone and had 5 texts from scouts about how bad Jachai Polite interviewed. On top of bad workouts (one called his injury “bullshit”), his stock is taking a massive tumble.

Here’s one of the interview exchanges (Polite’s version).

There’s no doubt that Polite is a first round talent, his film doesn’t lie. But given his newfound character concerns, I’m not sure taking him in the first round would be a good move by the Titans.
Jachai Polite was one of the most dominant edge rushers in college football last season. Watch as senior analyst Mike Renner walks us through what makes him so good. https://t.co/lPWdP3KleT pic.twitter.com/XpIhNjiBKU

If, however, Polite starts slipping in the second round, that’s when I think it would become a good move for the Titans to take the former Gator defender.
This is probably one of the most athletic plays you’ll see a defensive lineman make on tape all year. Jachai Polite is a freak. pic.twitter.com/7LJYmVi5Jq

We know Titans GM Jon Robinson is able to finagle his way into some interesting draft selections. Jachai Polite is a player that would be a huge NO in the first round for the Titans, but could end up being a huge YES if he falls in the draft.
