When referees’ hot mics go wrong… That’s what happened during the Preds-Blue Jackets game Thursday night in Nashville.

Late in the second period, Ryan Murray of Columbus was called for interference on Preds’ Harry Zolnierczyk. But, the referee turned his microphone on a little too early and the tail end of his “discussion” was aired on the TV and radio broadcast and all over the arena.

Nashville went on to win 4-3, with two big goals by the awakened Craig Smith.

By the way, the Preds are hot at 7-1-1 in their last nine games. And, they completely own the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 55-19-7 overall record, including 33-5-4 in Bridgestone Arena.
