Depending on who you ask, the Tennessee Titans either made away like bandits in the 2019 NFL Draft or they reached for a player in the first round who might not help them this upcoming reason.
NFL draft analyst Jon Ledyard of “The Draft Network” is one of the folks who believe the Titans made away like bandits.
(By the way, I agree with him.)
Ledyard grades Jeffery Simmons, Tennessee’s first round pick, as a top three overall talent. And he had a fourth round grade on the Titans’ sixth round pick, linebacker David Long.
Those aren’t the only picks he liked. Ledyard believes defensive back Amani Hooker was a steal in the fourth round and he doesn’t think the team reached for D’Andre Walker in the fifth round. He was also a fan of third round pick Nate Davis.
More people should be talking about #Titans draft. Simmons is top 3 player in class, AJ Brown was money at 51, exact kind of WR they needed, liked what I saw from Nate Davis, Hooker in Rd 4 was steal, didn’t reach for Walker who im not wild on, early 4th rd grade on LB David Long https://t.co/KMGgIneq29

I think it’s safe to say that Jon Robinson, at least on paper, nailed this draft. Of course, we never know how players will work out. Plenty of “steals” in the draft have turned out to be busts.
But for now, before any of these picks have played a game, Robinson looks like a genius.
