Rivals national recruiting analyst Mike Farrell made an encouraging prediction for the Tennessee Vols on Wednesday.
Farrell was discussing where four-star linebacker Junior Colson will land and he suggested that UT is the best bet.
“I’m going with Tennessee here because the Vols are recruiting well and have some momentum in the state”, said Farrell.
Colson, 6-foot-2/228 lbs from Brentwood, TN, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee and the No. 10 outside linebacker in the nation.
247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons describes Colson as an “eventual Power Five impact starter with the potential to be a mid-to-late round NFL Draft talent”. Simmons also noted that Colson is a “former wide receiver that brings that kind of athleticism to the linebacker position”.
Colson told Rivals earlier this month “I love coach Pruitt as a coach. He’s been doing it a long time. He knows what he is doing, and you can tell it works.”
The Tennessee native added “I like the family atmosphere here…….They were all joking around with me and so it really felt like home to be honest.”
UT currently has seven players committed to their 2021 recruiting class.
