Filip Forsberg is back for the Predators.
The Nashville Predators have activated Filip Forsberg off of injured reserve, according to Adam Vingan of The Tennessean. Forsberg was placed on IR on December 30 with an upper-body injury. Forsberg, the team’s leading goal scorer with 15 goals, missed a total of 11 games due to injury. Nashville faired well during that stretch going 7-2-2 without Forsberg.
The Swedish forward participated in practice last week, but wore a non-contact sweater. On Monday Forsberg traded in that non-contact sweater for a regular one during practice and was seen in a familiar spot; atop the first-line with Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson. Forsberg took the ice for the team’s optional morning skate on Thursday ahead of the team’s matchup against the Los Angeles Kings. He was a member of the team’s morning skate on Tuesday as well, but did not play.
All indications with this move is that Forsberg will be on the ice tonight as the Preds host the Kings at 7:30 p.m. CST on NBCSN.
