Marcus Mariota, Derek Carr, Dak Prescott and Jameis Winston have been a big story line this fall in the National Football League. The NFL needs this crop of young QBs to carry the league, once the old guard of Brady, Brees, Roethlisberger and others move on.
But, which of these four young studs is the most impressive? ESPN’s Mark Dominik thinks Marcus Mariota could be a darkhorse MVP candidate.
Mariota most impressive Young NFL QB
By the numbers, the former Oregon Duck stands out, too. He has thrown for more touchdowns this season (21), and thrown for more scores than Jameis Winston (19), Derek Carr (17) and Dak Prescott (14). Mariota’s quarterback rating (99.6) is the seventh highest in the NFL, and only trails Prescott (106.2) among the four young guns.
Carr is in his third season with the Raiders. Winston is in his second year with the Buccaneers and Prescott is leading the Cowboys as a rookie.
