If the Tennessee Vols don’t add anymore players to their 2019 recruiting class, they’ll still finish with a nice haul.
But let’s not kid ourselves — Jeremy Pruitt and his staff would be incredibly disappointed if they didn’t add a few additional signatures during the early signing period this week.
Fortunately for the Vols, they’re in a solid position with some of the nation’s top recruits. It’s quite possible that Tennessee could end up with a borderline top five class.
If that happens, it’ll be incredibly impressive, considering the Volunteers are coming off a 5-7 season that saw them limp to the end of November.
Pruitt has a reputation for being an elite recruiter as an assistant. But now is his chance to prove he can be an elite recruiter as a head coach.
If the Vols land at least three of the five players I’ve listed, then Pruitt will have proved his worth as a recruiter.
