Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey wasn’t too happy that Julio Jones was traded from the Atlanta Falcons to the Tennessee Titans for a second-round and fourth-round draft pick.
Ramsey, a Nashville native, felt like the Rams should’ve been in the “Julio Jones sweepstakes” if that’s all it took to land the seven-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver.
“This is all it took for a generational guy and we were “out” of the Julio sweepstakes!?,” tweeted Ramsey after the terms of the deal were announced on Sunday.
Ramsey was traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Rams during the 2019 season. He should feel fortunate that he doesn’t have to worry about covering Jones twice a season.
It’s worth noting, though, that the Rams host the Titans on Sunday Night Football on November 7, which means Ramsey will still have to attempt to cover Jones in at least one game this season.
Ramsey and Jones have played against each other once before. In Ramsey’s first game with the Rams in 2019 he was forced to cover Jones. In that matchup, Jones caught six passes for 93 yards, but only about half of that total came against Ramsey.
