Coach Duggs went to the Swamp for the first time as the Tennessee Vols’ head coach and walked away with a W.
In typical UT-Florida fashion, it was a thrilling ending that required Tennessee to score a touchdown in the game’s final seconds to win the game.

It was the first time that a UT head coach has beat Florida in their first attempt since Phillip Fulmer in 1992.
And I think we all know what Fulmer was able to accomplish at Tennessee.
(Feels like 98)
That’s what I think it’s time for Coach Duggs to get an extension from the Vols.
Now, I’m sure there are plenty of you out there who think it’s WAY too early to start the extension talk. But beating Florida on the first try? After a 4-8 season the year before?
It’s clear that special things are on the way for Duggs in Knoxville.
But Tennessee has to make sure they keep their new star head coach.
And Duggs has already made it clear that he has an eye on the Wisconsin job.
The Vols need to lock Duggs in to an extension with a ridiculously high buyout.
Look, Tennessee’s been here before. The program seemed like it was on an upward trajectory under Lane Kiffin. But then Kiffin bolted for USC, which incited riots.
Rocky Top can’t handle another coach leaving after injecting a bolt of energy into the program.
Extend Duggs. And do it soon. Before the Badgers steal your coach.
