It doesn’t take a basketball wizard to tell you Tennessee should beat up on Florida today. Sure, the Vols struggled a little against Florida in Gainesville, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that Tennessee is downright better than Florida in literally every aspect of the game.

With that being said, the Vols moneyline sounds like a must-hit, but that only pays out around

-800 odds where the reward isn’t worth the risk, so let’s check out some aspects of the game that could earn gamblers some more money on today’s Tennessee game.

In their last matchup, the Vols won by 11 points which is exactly what the spread is at today. But this time, the Vols are at home which is generally worth a few points.

No, Tennessee did not cover the hefty 18 point spread against Missouri on Tuesday, but the Vols have been covering pretty consistently as of late, going 7-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last ten.

To add to that, Florida is in a spread slump and has not covered in their last five outings. Florida also struggles in Thompson Boling Arena as they are only 1-4 ATS in their last five trips to Knoxville.

There is no doubt about Tennessee players’ motivation today either. If the Vols doing the Gator Chomp after their last meeting with Florida tells us anything, it’s that the Vols would love nothing more than to go out and dominate the Gators today.

The over/ under is scary today.

Currently, the O/U is at 138 which would have hit with a 7-point cushion in the last matchup.

Florida is not generally a team that goes over though. In four of Florida’s last six games and in eight of their last nine on the road, the under has hit which makes this game sound like a potential under bet.

What makes the over/ under scary in this one is that the Gators tend to bring their best stuff when they play the Vols. In their last five outings against Tennessee, the over has hit (which we have learned is unusual for the Gators as a whole).

In their last meeting, we saw Florida bombing three pointers for the majority of the game which leaves the over/ under as a bit of a crap shoot. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Gators come out with the same strategy today and if they catch a little bit of fire, the over will hit. But if not, this could be a low scoring affair, especially for away team.

All in all, the over/ under is a bet that a lot people are straying away from.
