Former Tennessee Titans center Kevin Mawae has joined Arizona State’s coaching staff as an offensive analyst, according to a report from 247Sports.

Mawae played for the Titans from 2006-09. He reached the Pro-Bowl in each of his final two seasons in Nashville.

It’s not a big surprise that Mawae, who served as president of the NFLPA from 2008-2012, is joining Arizona State’s staff. Mawae played under Herm Edwards, who was hired as the Sun Devils’ head coach in December, from 2001-2005 with the New York Jets.

Mawae previously served as an assistant offensive line coach for the Chicago Bears under John Fox. He wasn’t retained after the 2016 season.

Spring practice for Arizona State will get underway on March 13.
