I’ve read a lot of social media comments calling me a complete idiot over the last several weeks for my take on Tennessee football.
Those folks are probably right.
But not when it comes to my view of Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt.
Look, Pruitt is toast at Tennessee. When the hot seat chatter starts, it never turns out well for a coach.
I don’t know when the Vols will fire Pruitt. But it’s going to happen.
On Monday night, we received yet another sign that Pruitt is done at Tennessee.
Five-star inside linebacker Terrence Lewis, the crown jewel of UT’s 2021 recruiting class, announced his decommitment from Tennessee.
We’ve seen this before (shades of Butch Jones in 2017).
Everyone knows the ship is going down. Recruits know it (Lewis is the second high profile UT commit to decommit recently). National writers know it. And fans, deep down if they’re being honest, know it.
It’s only going to get worse from here. Vol fans know this timeline. They know how it ends.
What else do they need to see?
Pruitt is done. There’s no point in delaying the inevitable.
