The Tennessee Vols are receiving a visit from one of the top players in the nation next week.
Five-star defensive lineman Payton Page, 6-foot-4/315 lbs from Greensboro, NC, tweeted on Thursday that he will be in Knoxville next week.
I will be at the university of Tennessee next week #GBO 🍊

Page is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina and the No. 4 defensive tackle in the nation. He’s also rated as the No. 28 overall 2021 player in the nation.
Former Vols defensive line coach Tracy Rocker, who left for South Carolina earlier this month, was one of Page’s primary recruiters. That means that Jimmy Brumbaugh, Tennessee’s new defensive line coach, will have to quickly build a good relationship with Page.
Of course, part of the reason the Vols moved on from Rocker was because of his lackluster recruiting efforts. So I’m sure the thought on Rocky Top is that Brumbaugh will be better suited than Rocker to build a solid relationship with Page.
The Vols should have a decent chance to land the elite defensive tackle from North Carolina. Page told VolQuest in January that he wants to play at a program where he can see the field early and make an impact.
Tennessee certainly fits that description.
