We went into the Titans locker room and talked to Derrick Henry about his relationship with Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt. Pruitt is one of the leading candidates for the University of Tennessee head coaching position.
Henry spoke very highly of Pruitt and even mentioned that he was the reason why he switched his commitment from Georgia to Alabama. Funny thing is, Pruitt never coached at Alabama while Henry was there. If the Vols do end up landing Pruitt, it sounds like he’s one hell of a recruiter if he was able to sway a Heisman Trophy winner.
Jeremy Pruitt is the reasons why Derrick Henry went to Alabama:
Phillip Fulmer trying to wrap up Vols’ search after meeting today with Alabama DC Jeremy Pruitt. Also talked to Auburn DC Kevin Steele and Georgia DC Mel Tucker on Tuesday. Fulmer looking for a tough-minded defensive presence and someone with a proven track record as a recruiter.
