We are less than five days away from the largest college football game ever to be played. Tennessee takes on Virginia Tech at 7pmCT on ABC at Bristol Motor Speedway.
As this time of year is filled with tradition, we tend to equate different things with different football programs. When you think of military men kissing their dates in the stands, one thing comes to mind, Texas A&M. Out west, the blue turf represents Boise State. A tailgate tent with a hanging chandelier, frat guys wearing ties and high healed co-eds, usually means you’re in The Grove about to watch an Ole Miss game.
Virginia Tech associates themselves with special teams and ‘bringing the lunch pail to work’. That’s something former head coach Frank Beamer instilled into the program during his twenty-eight year career in Blacksburg.
When it comes to Tennessee, a two color pattern is all you need to see to know that you’re in Big Orange country.
Watch the paint go on the field for Saturday’s epic showdown.

Both teams head into Saturday’s matchup 1-0. The Vols are coming off of a week 1 victory against Appalachian State, barley escaping in overtime, 20-13. The Hokies got passed Liberty in their season opener, 36-13.
