We made the announcement today that I have accepted the incredible opportunity to host a daily radio show for the flagship station of the Tennessee Titans, 1045 The Zone. I wanted you to hear from me though that I’ve extended my AtoZ Sports Nashville contract and grow this thing with all the exciting work they are doing in the digital space.
I am extremely honored that both entities felt it important to include me as a part of what they are building.
Most importantly, I am grateful to you as Nashville sports fans. The way that you all have adopted my foolishness into your lives has been completely disarming. It has totally changed my life in a way that I’ll never be able to repay.
What I can do is fill you in on what is happening and what to expect in my own words.
There’s a lot of ground to cover.
Nothing with AtoZ Sports is changing
This was extremely important to me.
Austin Stanley and Zach Bingham saved my professional life. I mean that in every sense. What they have built over five years at AtoZ is a digital machine unlike anything else in the market. I’ve been fortunate to watch it grow exponentially since they brought me in.
Austin and Zach have spent countless hours helping me to refine my skills. You want to work with people who you trust to have your back. Everything they have done for me displays that to no end. Unselfishness is damn near impossible to find in an industry overwrought with pettiness, ego and insecurity.
None of that exists at AtoZ Sports. It’s just about growing together and doing business fairly.
So, AtoZ Sports Primetime, the 615 Sessions and regular Titans articles will remain in-tact. You, as an audience, have made those shows soar.
They will only grow faster as a part of the new collaboration with 104.5 The Zone.
No, I am not replacing The Midday 180 on The Zone
I wouldn’t even dream of it.
My show will be in the slot Jonathan Hutton, Chad Withrow and Paul Kuharsky dominated over the last nine years on the Zone. Nothing can replace them. In fact, it was only with their blessing that I was comfortable taking on this new role. Midday has been the gold standard in Nashville and something I have always tried to learn from. I can’t wait to see what they do in March and I know I can always rely on their guidance and friendship.
What we’re creating with the 1045 in that space will be different.
Working over the last month with Paul Mason, Allison Warren and Bruce Gilbert to put the pieces in place for this announcement has been a pleasure. The Zone is an absolute behemoth locally and a place that I’ve always wanted to be a part of. Their vision for this show excites me to know end and I’m grateful for their trust.
We know the product we’re bringing to you from 10 AM-1 PM will be top notch.
Most importantly, I get to stay in Nashville
I don’t love anything the way I love this city and the people in it.
I was not born here, but Nashville is home.
While nothing I can do can match my gratitude, I know damn sure this means great things for you, too. Together, with AtoZ Sports and 1045 The Zone, we will provide an incredible experience for Nashville sports fans. The content will be bigger, better and occupy every possible media space.
Trust and know I will do my absolute best with the resources I’ve been provided for you as an audience.
None of this is possible without my parents’ support and patience in letting me ill-advisedly move down here after college. My agent, Shaun Wyman, busted his ass every day for me to get to this point. Words cannot describe how incredibly patient and caring my girlfriend Dara Epstein has been through the SEVEN weeks of negotiations that it took to get this deal done.
I set foot on Lower Broadway for the first time as a college freshman soaked in a $12 handle of Karkov vodka. My intentions were to simply come down here to pillage your streets like every other slap tourist that travels to Music City for the CMAs. The minute I got into town, I knew I wanted to make my life here.
Over the last five years, I’ve learned what this incredible community represents is so real at its core. Lazy stigmas like neon lights and bachelorette parties aren’t so bad when you realize what else it comes with.
Nashville has exceeded every expectation.
I hope you’re as excited as I am for this next phase. Remember, we are doing this together.
In the meantime, here’s hoping that I don’t screw it all up 💅🏽.
