The Auburn Tigers will have one less fan cheering the team on this fall when they take on the Tennessee Vols in November.
That’s because Dylan Brooks, a four-star defensive end who committed to Tennessee in late April, will be cheering for the Vols instead of Auburn.
Brooks, 6-foot-5/250 lbs from Roanoke, AL, grew up rooting for the Tigers. But that’s obviously changed now that he’s committed to the Vols.
“I grew up an Auburn fan, but of course I’ll be pulling for Tennessee,” said Brooks in a recent interview with Rivals.
That’s not the only off-season victory Tennessee has over Auburn, either.
On Monday, three-star offensive lineman J’Marion Gooch announced that he was flipping his commitment from the Tigers to the Vols.
Thank you to the Auburn Community, and coaching staff for all of the support during this process. After much thought and consideration, I have decided….@CoachTBarr @TKACoachSellers @CoachJPruitt @JimChaneyUT @CoachWillFriend @aspicer19 pic.twitter.com/gGT3EsRVcF

Gooch, 6-foot-7/358 lbs from Seymour, TN, committed to Auburn in April. But Tennessee never stopped pursuing the massive offensive lineman, which clearly paid off the Volunteers.
Ultimately, it only matters what happens on the field between Tennessee and Auburn. But it’s clear the Vols have won the off-season battle between the two programs.
