Rest will certainly be a factor in game one of the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers series. The Jazz come in well rested after taking care of the Grizzlies in five games. The Clippers come in after a series against the Mavericks that went seven games that each team could have one. Both of these team have shot the ball at high clips and have been solid of defense throughout the playoffs. However, one of these teams has been much more consistent this season.

The Pick: Jazz -3 (-112)

The Why: Jazz Depth

The Jazz showed that they were truly a legit contender in the first round series win over the Grizzlies. The lone game they lost happened when Donovan Mitchell was out. Once he returned, the Jazz won the remaining four games with ease. Mitchell averaged 28.5 PPG and shot 45% from the field and 40% from three. The entire Jazz offense is clicking when he is on the floor, averaging 123.4 PPG, shooting 48.8% from the field and 40.6% from three. They had the most threes attempted and most threes made during the regular season.

One thing that sticks out for the Jazz is it is not just Donovan Mitchell that can stuff the stat sheet. Six Jazz players have averaged double digits throughout the playoffs. Mike Conley will be out for tonight’s game due to an injury. To make up for his lost production, Jordan Clarkson will see even more increased minutes. I’m expecting Rudy Gobert to have a big game and series offensively for the Jazz. In the playoffs, he is averaging 17.4 PPG and 13 boards. He is a very tough matchup for Clippers’ Ivica Zubac. Zubac doesn’t not move as well as Gobert, and he saw his minutes drop against the Mavericks. The Jazz should and will take advantage of that matchup early and often.

We’re going with the home team Utah Jazz to cover the spread. There’s just something about the Clippers that I don’t trust. They have been up and down all season with consistency. I get that Kawhi Leonard is playing well but with the exception of Paul George there’s not a lot of scoring on this Clippers team. The Clippers had a hard time with the Mavericks, and they only have one dominate player the Clippers couldn’t stop in Luke Doncic. The Jazz are so deep and have the rest advantage, which matters a lot in the playoffs. We’re rolling with the Jazz to cover.

Trends We’re Betting On

Jazz are 6-1 ATS last 7

Jazz are 7-3 ATS last 10 vs the Clippers

Jazz are 25-13-1 ATS at home

Clippers are 3-9 ATS in the last 12 games in Utah

Yesterday’s Pick: Bucks +1 ❌

Well, this one was never even close. I was certain that the Bucks would come out and shoot the ball much better than they did in game one but it was ugly once again. Got to pick ourselves off the mat and keep going.

AtoZ Pick Of The Day Record: 4-3
